RACE INFO: The Camping World 300 at Chicagoland Speedway begins at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 29, 2019. The race will be broadcast live on NBCSN, Sirius XM 90, and MRN Radio.
Back to Racing: Following a one-week break, Christopher Bell and the No. 20 Rheem team return to the track this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway for the Camping World 300 and their only stop of the 2019 season at the 1.5-mile facility located in Joliet, IL. In 2018, Bell started 11th and led 21 laps, but a pit road speeding penalty late in the race set him back in the field. Bell worked his way forward to finish 12th.
For whatever reason the really slick intermediate tracks seem to be our struggle point, they aren’t our bread and butter, but I’m excited to get back there and try and get better at it
Truck Series at Chicago: Bell is no stranger to success at Chicagoland, having two starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with two top five and two top-10 finishes to his credit.
Iowa Recap: Christopher Bell dominated Iowa Speedway, leading 186 laps and taking home the checkered flag. The win was Bell’s second at the 0.875-mile oval and his fourth NXS win of 2019.
Joe Gibbs Racing at Chicagoland: JGR has 56 NXS starts at Chicagoland and has earned seven wins, 16 top-five and 34 top-10 finishes. The championship-winning organization has won seven pole awards with an average start of 7.8 and an average finish of 11.1.
Christopher Bell: “For whatever reason the really slick intermediate tracks seem to be our struggle point, they aren’t our bread and butter, but I’m excited to get back there and try and get better at it. Last year I think we were going to run second or third if I didn’t speed on pit road on the last pit stop. Our Supras have had a lot of speed and I’m ready to get to Chicago and see what we’ve got.”
