Paul Menard Aims For a Top Ten Finish at the Magic Mile

July 9, 2013

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series – Camping World RV Sales 301
July 14, 2013 – New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Paul Menard, No. 27

Paul Menard will pilot chassis No. 419 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. This No. 27 Chevrolet SS was previously run this season at Martinsville Speedway and Richmond International Raceway. Menard has 12 starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. His best start of seventh and best finish of 12th both came in 2012. The Wisconsin native has completed 3,520 of 3,560 laps attempted (98.9 percent) at the Loudon, N.H., track. Starting 13th, Menard fought handling issues throughout last year’s 301-lap event, finishing 17th at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

I really enjoy going to New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The track hasn’t been very good to me in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, but I still like racing there, it’s a fun track to drive. I really like the one-mile tracks, they can make for some exciting short-track-style racing. We’re doing double duty this weekend, participating in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Saturday. Our goal is to learn things in that event, which we can apply to Sunday’s race. We’ve had some tough luck these past couple of weeks, so hopefully things will turn around this weekend for the No. 27 Libman/Menards team at Loudon. – Paul Menard
