Ty Dillon Rallies to a Second Place Finish at Atlanta

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series - Hyundai Construction Equipment 200
February 28, 2015 - Atlanta Motor Speedway

Despite battling a tight-handling Chevrolet for the majority of the 130-lap event, Ty Dillon finished second at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Dillon started from the 14th position and immediately reported a tight-handling Chevrolet to the No. 33 Rheem team. Under caution on lap 17, crew chief Shane Huffman called the young driver to pit road for right-side tires, fuel and a chassis adjustment propelling Dillon into the top-five for the ensuing restart. The Welcome, N.C., native would remain in the top-five for the remainder of the race and with multiple fast pit stops by the GMS Racing crew, Dillon took the checkered flag in the second position.

I’m really proud of this No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet team. Shane (Huffman) and the guys worked hard in practice to get the handling right on the truck. We battled it for awhile, but they gave me a fast truck for the race. Shane (Huffman) made a great call on the first pit stop to take two tires. We needed that for track position, but we didn’t have enough to track down the (No.) 88 truck. We’ll keep building on this momentum and get us up front this season. - Ty Dillon
