Menard and the No. 33 Rheem Team Look Forward to Indianapolis

July 22, 2013

NASCAR Nationwide Series – Indiana 250
July 27, 2013 – Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Paul Menard, No. 33

Paul Menard will pilot chassis No. 130 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This No. 33 Chevrolet Camaro is a new addition to the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Nationwide Series stable and will turn its first laps in practice on Friday. Menard has one Nationwide Series start at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. After starting in the ninth position, the Wisconsin native finished eighth in last year’s inaugural Series event at the 2.5-mile facility.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway is one of my favorite tracks. It’s a place with so much history and prestige. I grew up spending a lot of time at the Brickyard with my family and I was fortunate enough to get my first (NASCAR Sprint Cup Series) win there, so it will always be a special place for me. The track itself is unlike any other in that it’s a flat square with rounded corners. It’s always nice to get a little extra practice at a place like Indy. I’m hoping to learn some things in Saturday’s race that I can apply to the Cup Series race on Sunday. It’s always fun to race the No. 33 Rheem/Menards car with Ernie (Cope, crew chief) and the guys. They do a great job of putting together really fast race cars and we are taking a brand new car with us this weekend. I’m excited to see what we’ve got when we unload on Friday. – Paul Menard

Flag-to-flag coverage of the Indiana 250 will be televised on ESPN beginning at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, July 27 and broadcast live on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Satellite Radio, channel 90.
