Resources for Homeowners Affected by the Texas Winter Storm

If you are one of the millions of Texans impacted by the catastrophic winter storms in February 2021, we know the need for support and recovery efforts continues. Here are links to trusted organizations that are providing relief and support services across the state.

Rheem Customer Support

Our Customer Service Support Team at 866-720-2076 is ready to help homeowners with water heater issues caused by power outages and loss of water. Due to the widespread impact of the disaster, our team is experiencing record call volume, but we are working hard to answer all calls as quickly as possible.

Financial Support

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has made federal emergency aid available to the state of Texas to supplement recovery efforts in areas affected by the winter storm.
The deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is April 20, 2021.
FEMA can provide assistance with home repairs, lodging reimbursement, rent and childcare expenses, replacement of belongings, medical and other expenses.

Foreclosure Relief and Mortgage Assistance

If your home or your ability to make your mortgage payments were affected by the storms, you may qualify for relief from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Income Tax Relief

The Internal Revenue Service has extended the deadline for filing taxes for Texas residents impacted by the storms. Instead of April 15, the tax deadline for individuals and businesses in Texas is June 15, 2021.

Food Assistance

Local food banks and food pantries are providing meals and food to people who’ve suffered losses during the disaster. Find a resource near you through resources such as Super Bowl of Caring or Feeding America.
