Christopher Bell – No. 95 Rheem Toyota Camry Preview Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway

“Atlanta is one of my best and favorite tracks. With it being hot this weekend, the track is going to be super slick, just the way I like it. We’ve been making a lot of progress and I’m hoping we can carry that momentum over into this weekend.”

Atlanta Bound: Christopher Bell heads to Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) to make his first NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) start at the 1.54-mile track this weekend. AMS has been a good track for Bell in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS). In 2019, Bell put forth a dominating effort, qualifying third and leading 142 of the 163 laps to take home the checkered flag.

Atlanta Success: In the NXS Series at AMS, Bell has one win, one pole, two top-five and two top-10 finishes. Bell has one win, one top-five and one top-10 finish in two-career NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series (NGOTS) starts at AMS. The 2017 trip to victory lane jump started his NGOTS Championship run.

By the Numbers: Bell holds his third highest average finish in NXS at Atlanta. His average finish of 2.0 at AMS comes in behind an average NXS finish of first at Loudon and an average finish of 1.5 at Kentucky Speedway.

Atlanta Ties for Rheem: Rheem, an Atlanta based company with headquarters in Atlanta, Ga., has been a primary fixture on the hood of Bell’s Toyota’s throughout his Xfinity career and now his Rookie season in the Cup Series. Rheem is an industry leader in heating, cooling and water heating, for more information visit: www.rheem.com

Gaining Momentum: Bell has earned two top-10 and three top-15 finishes in the last four races.

Bristol Recap: Christopher Bell started 35th based on a random draw for starting positions, but quickly marched forward from the drop of the green flag. The team worked on handling throughout the first two stages and with the help of some pit strategy Bell started the final stage sixth. Bell raced his way as high as third and was running inside the top 10 when he received an “uncontrolled tire” penalty on a pit stop and had to start at the back of the field. Once again, Bell raced his way through the field, dodging accidents on track, to earn a ninth-place finish in his first NCS start at Bristol. The top-10 finish is Bell’s second of the 2020 season.
