With EZ-Link, Rheem Tankless Water Heaters Meet the High-Volume Demands of Large Homes.
May 8, 2007
EZ-Link Technology from Rheem Water Heating enables installers to meet the hot-water demands of homes with up to six bathrooms or to expand existing Rheem tankless systems to handle the needs of growing families. Available on all Rheem 2nd generation tankless water heater models, EZ-Link enables two tankless units to be wall-hung, side by side, and connected with a communication cable, so they can operate as a single water heater. For example:
– A customer with a four-bathroom home could install two RTG-53 series water heaters with an EZ-Link cable to meet his or her hot water demands.
– A Rheem tankless user building a new bath, kitchen or home addition would not have to replace the existing unit, but simply connect a second Rheem tankless water heater to absorb the additional hot-water demand – all without taking up an excessive amount of space.
– A typical tankless water heater is about 12 inches wide by 24 inches high, weighs about 50 pounds and can be mounted on either an interior or exterior wall, depending on the climate,” says Jim Cika, Rheem Specialty Water Heating Manager. “As a result, most spaces will be able to accommodate the additional unit relatively easily.”
For larger residential applications, the MIC-180 manifold control allows installers to link up to 20 Rheem tankless water heaters (all the same model) in a manifold configuration.
