Rheem Launches Contest Where Contractors can Win One of Five Custom-Designed Furnaces.

Contest kicks off Rheem’s upcoming debut of a new 90 percent plus gas furnace platform

ATLANTA—April 4, 2013–

In advance of debuting its entirely new 90 percent plus gas furnace platform in 2013, Rheem has kicked off an exciting contest. Rheem will give away five uniquely designed, custom-painted Rheem furnaces, as well as five Ruud furnaces in the same designs.

The designs are dubbed “The Patriot,” “The Scorcher,” “The Warrior,” “The Beast,” and “The Shark.” Rheem partnered with DuSold Designs of Lewisville, Texas, to create these impressive gas furnaces.

“We wanted to find a fun way to drive excitement for Rheem’s upcoming 90 percent plus furnace platform, and these jaw-dropping furnaces do just that,” said Terry Stern, Rheem product manager, residential heating products. “The lucky contest winners will be able to display the furnaces in their offices as show pieces.”

DuSold Designs is a full-service custom car and bike builder that offers paint, custom fabrication and mechanical work. The firm’s work has been featured in a number of automotive magazines, including Hot Rod, Easy Riders, Street Trucks, Hot Bike, Classic Trucks and more. This is the first time that the company has been tapped to develop custom-designed HVAC equipment.

“When Rheem approached us about taking our expertise in designing custom cars and bikes and applying it to furnaces, I was intrigued,” said Mike DuSold, owner and artist, DuSold Designs. “The furnaces that we created are unlike any other furnace you’ll ever see. The design concepts are stunning, and we’re thrilled that we had the opportunity to develop these unique units.”

Rheem and Ruud contractors can enter the contest by voting for their favorite furnace design on www.MyRheem.com/360 or www.MyRuud.com/360. Contractors must have access to a MyRheem or MyRuud account in order to enter the contest. The contest runs until April 30, 2013, and contractors can enter up to once per day. The five Rheem and five Ruud winners will be announced in May.

Rheem will introduce a new gas furnace platform under both Rheem and Ruud brands later in 2013, which will deliver increased efficiencies as well as new features that promise easier and faster installations and service calls.
