Rheem Gives Back at the 2006 Rheem Classic.
March 23, 2006
In 2003, Rheem became the title sponsor of the Rheem Classic, an exciting event where the proceeds go to local charity organizations. This year’s Rheem Classic will be held May 8-14 at the Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith where organizers are “Reaching for a Million” to raise more than $1 million in charitable contributions since the tournament started in 1998.
Prior to 2003, Rheem had supported the tournament by volunteering employee time and supplying air conditioning equipment to cool the indoor tennis center that becomes the 19th Hole Comfort Zone during the tournament. The 19th Hole Comfort Zone is an entertainment spot that hosts exciting events ranging from cooking demonstrations during the day to live music at night.
An important reason Rheem became the title sponsor was because The PGA TOUR is the only professional sport that structures every tournament as a non-profit organization designed to donate 100-percent of net proceeds to area charities. Rheem is proud to be a part of an effort that can produce $1 million in charitable donations.
