Rheem Announces New Sites For Its Water Heating Division

MONTGOMERY, Ala. —Sept. 15, 2016—Longtime member of the Montgomery community, Rheem® today announced plans for new Water Heating Division offices, opening in 2017. The manufacturer will combine two of its current sites in Montgomery into one new facility, and it will open a divisional office outside of Atlanta in Alpharetta, Georgia.

With local lease agreements set to expire in 2017, Rheem will merge its Water Heating Division headquarters office, currently located off Bell Road, and its Customer Care and Technical Support Center, located at Carwood Court, into one state-of-the-art facility. The new office will open mid-2017 and it will be based at the interchange of I-85 and Interstate Parkway. The company’s manufacturing facility at Gunter Park, which opened in 1972, will remain unchanged.

“Our business has grown substantially over the last several years and we see great momentum for the future of our Montgomery operations,” said Rich Bendure, executive vice president and general manager, Rheem Water Heating Division. “We’re excited to bring our employees together in a dynamic new space that’s modern and more collaborative.”

The new office is the latest in a series of investments made by Rheem locally, which include renovations and upgrades at Rheem’s Research and Development facilities, as well as the addition of new shared services team.

Rheem will also open a Water Heating Division office north of Atlanta in Alpharetta, Georgia. Opening in first quarter 2017, this office will include a product showroom and a customer- training center. Approximately 20 positions that are based in Montgomery office in 2017, as will all positions in the company’s Atlanta-based product and marketing teams. Atlanta has been the site of Rheem’s corporate headquarters since 2006.

“Rheem’s suite of HVAC and water heating products can have a significant impact on energy and water sustainability, so creating closer ties with our corporate leadership in Atlanta will help us develop even more efficient and advanced products,” added Bendure.

Rheem first began operating in Montgomery in 1972. The company is an active community champion, supporting local causes like Habitat for Humanity and The United Way.
