<p> </p> <div>Rick Penn, an outside sales representative with Hughes Supply, Inc. in Fort Myers, Florida, recently became the 500th student to attend and complete the RHEEM-RUUD COMMERCIAL WATER HEATER INSTITUTE. Established in 1998, the Commercial Institute is open to all Rheem-Ruud wholesaler-distributors and their contractor customers. The objective is to deepen the students’ understanding how to sell, install and service commercial water heaters.</div> <div> </div> <p> </p> <div>Penn sells plumbing products for Hughes Supply, covering a territory that extends from Tampa to Naples. A 25-year industry veteran – all of it with Hughes, where he started as a truck driver – Penn is certainly no stranger to the water heater business. Still, he found the three-day Commercial Institute at Rheem headquarters in Montgomery a valuable learning experience for himself and the customer he brought to the school: Neil Jacobs of Balgas, a propane dealer located in Naples, Florida.</div> <div> </div> <p> </p> <div>"My main motivation for attending was to get a little better understanding of how to size commercial water heaters, and the school certainly helped on that score," says Penn. He and Jacobs also experienced an in-depth briefing on the entire Rheem-Ruud commercial water heater line, including the 95%-efficient AdvantagePlus Power Direct Vent Commercial Water Heater.</div> <p> </p> <div>"With what he learned in Montgomery, Neil is now actively promoting AdvantagePlus to commercial accounts in his market," Penn continues.
