Protect Your Home from Potential Leak Damage
Water damage is a very expensive and disruptive experience. When you buy a unit with Rheem’s LeakSense™ and LeakGuard™ built in, like the Rheem Smart Electric Water Heater or Rheem ProTerra Hybrid Electric Water Heater, you have an integrated leak detection and prevention system.
LeakSense leak detection will let you know about a leak as soon as it starts. It detects any leak in as little as 15 seconds. LeakGuard takes the leak detection capability from the LeakSense feature, and marries it to a factory-installed automatic water shut-off valve that limits any leaks to no more than 20 oz. of water. With both LeakSense and LeakGuard, in the case of a leak you are notified through an audible alarm at the water heater as well as through notifications in our EcoNet® app.
Avoid Cold Showers with the Hot Water Availability Feature
There’s nothing worse than being a few minutes into what should be a nice hot, relaxing shower and suddenly running out of hot water. If you have a large family, this could be a regular occurrence in your house. With the Hot Water Availability feature, you don’t have to guess anymore. The Hot Water Availability indicator in the app shows you how much water is left in your water heater – so you can wait a few extra minutes to get that hot shower you deserve. Save Money with Energy-Saving Scheduling
In some areas, utilities charge what is known as “Time of Use Pricing.” This means that the cost of electricity is higher at certain times of the day (and much lower at others). With the scheduling features on the Smart Electric and ProTerra water heaters, you can schedule your energy usage to avoid heating water during these peak pricing periods, resulting in savings on your utility bills. You can track your usage by looking at weekly, monthly and yearly reports. All of this is done in the EcoNet app.
