Rheem Water Heaters Provide Long-Lasting Performance for a Professional Football Stadium
September 15, 2020
Running a professional football stadium is much like running a mini city. With food service, laundry, locker rooms, bathroom use and more, hot water is critical to the operation of the facility. This case study outlines the upgrade that took just a few weeks to install 104 water heaters and gave them a comprehensive, long-term solution.
A professional stadium found that it had to replace water heaters at an alarming rate (and at a high cost). The water heaters were rusting prematurely in the coastal, salt-air environment, and extended periods of downtime between games and during the off-season left them working at less than peak performance.
For this scenario, the stadium's facilities team selected a combination of Rheem® Marathon® Eclipse™ Water Heaters along with Rheem Light Duty Commercial Electric Water Heaters.
Marathon units were selected because of their unique design. With their plastic outer shell and polypropylene tanks, they won’t rust out. Their titanium heating elements ensure the durability and longevity of the units. And, they are built to outlast other water heaters even in the harshest environments.
“When customers are looking at a facility, they need to consider what Rheem has to offer in commercial—tank type, tankless, heat pump and even an extensive HVAC lineup. They have more tools and products than any competitor,” said Corey Stuart of Stone-Drew Ashe & Jones.
Before & After
Existing water heaters rusted prematurely in the salt air on the left. Rheem Marathon Eclipse commercial water heater on the right has a seamless, blow-molded, polybutene tank which is impervious to rust and corrosion.
