Christopher Bell / No. 20 Rheem Toyota Camry Preview Overton’s 300 at Chicagoland Speedway

Back to Racing: Following a one-week break, Christopher Bell and the No. 20 Rheem team return to the track this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway for the Overton’s 300 and their only stop of the 2018 season at the 1.5-mile facility located in Joliet, IL. Despite never taking a lap at Chicagoland in an Xfinity Series Car, Bell is no stranger to success at the Midwest facility, having two starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with two top five and two top-10 finishes to his credit.

Iowa Recap: Christopher Bell and his Rheem team paid a visit to Iowa Speedway for the Iowa 250 and their first of two visits of 2018 season at the .875-mile facility two weeks ago. After starting the 250-lap event in 39th, Bell worked his way inside the top 10 by lap 28 and never looked back, crossing the finish line in the second position and earning his eighth top-five finish of the 2018 season.

Points Update: Following Iowa, Bell and his Rheem team currently sit fifth in the points standings, 33 points behind the leader heading into Chicago. However, by virtue of his win at Richmond, Bell and his team have all but secured a spot in the 2018 Xfinity Series Playoffs and have accumulated the second most playoff points this season.

Joe Gibbs Racing at Chicagoland: JGR has 53 NXS starts at Chicagoland and has earned seven wins, 15 top-five and 33 top-10 finishes. The championship-winning organization has won seven pole awards with an average start of 7.9 and an average finish of 11.2.

RACE INFO: The Overton’s 300 at Chicagoland Speedway begins at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 30, 2018. The race will be broadcast live on NBCSN, Sirius XM 90, and MRN Radio.

From the Cockpit:
Christopher Bell: “I’m looking forward to Chicagoland Speedway this weekend and getting this long stretch of races off to a good start. So far this year our mile-and-a-half program has been pretty strong and I have no reason to believe that won’t be the same for this weekend. Our Rheem Camry has had a lot of speed this season, so hopefully we can go out, execute our game plan and come away with another strong finish on Saturday afternoon.”
