Post-Race Highlights

Christopher Bell and his Rheem team paid a visit to Michigan International Speedway (MIS) for the LTI Printing 250 and their only visit of 2018 season at the 2.0-mile oval. After qualifying was cancelled due to rain on Saturday Morning, the field was set by the rule book with Bell and his Rheem team earning the seventh position for the scheduled 125-lap event. After a more than three-hour weather delay to begin the race, Bell crossed the finish line in the 11th position after the race was deemed official on lap 91 due to rain.

Following the drop of the green flag, Bell worked his way into fifth after lap one and settled into the third position by lap two. With the top-10 cars running single file around the two-mile facility, Bell continued his run in third until lap 17 when he spun coming off turn two, bringing out the first caution of the afternoon. After coming down pit road to repair the damage to his Rheem Camry under the caution, Bell returned to the track in 39th, two laps down to the leaders. With only a few laps remaining in stage one, Bell maintained his positon and took the green/white/checkered flag in 39th on lap 30. Under the caution, crew chief Jason Ratcliff called Bell down pit road once again for four tires, fuel and a round of adjustments to the Rheem Camry. After taking the wave around under caution, Bell gained one of his laps back and restarted stage two in 38th on lap 35.

Following a quick caution to start stage two on lap 36, Bell received the free pass once again to gain his lap back and restarted in 31st on lap 41. Wasting no time working his way towards the front following the restart, Bell cracked the top 20 by lap 49 and was scored in 12th when the caution flag waved once again on lap 56. Playing strategy, Bell stayed out under the caution and ended stage two in ninth on lap 60. With different pit strategies playing out under the caution, Bell restarted the third and final stage in seventh on lap 65.

With rain looming, Bell was put three wide on the restart and got loose, spinning in turn four and bringing out the caution on lap 67. After hitting pit road for four fresh Goodyear Eagles following the spin, Bell restarted in 32nd on lap 70. Continuing to battle, Bell worked his way back inside the top 10 by lap 78 and was scored in 11th when the caution flag waved once again on lap 90 for rain. Following one more circuit around the track, NASCAR deemed the race official with Bell and his Rheem team earning a hard-fought 11th-place finish.

Bell and his Rheem team will return to the track next weekend at Iowa Speedway for race 14 of the 2018 season. Coverage of the race begins on Sunday, June 17th at 5:00PM ET live on Fox Sports 1, MRN and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.
