Menard and the No. 27 Team Prepare for Road America

Paul Menard will pilot chassis No. 358 at Sonoma Raceway. This No. 27 Chevrolet SS was previously raced by Menard at Sonoma in 2011 and 2012. Menard has five starts at Sonoma Raceway. His best start of third and best finish of 17th both came in 2011. The Wisconsin native has completed 556 of 567 laps attempted (99.8 percent) at the 1.99-mile road course.

Reigning NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) champion and past NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) winner James Buescher will attempt to make his first NNS start of 2013 in the Johnsonville Sausage 200 at Road America on June 22nd. Buescher goes to Road America with limited experience on road courses, with just one NNS road course start at Watkins Glen in 2011.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (June 17, 2013) – Reigning NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) champion and past NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) winner James Buescher will attempt to make his first NNS start of 2013 in the Johnsonville Sausage 200 at Road America on June 22nd.

Buescher captured his first NNS win in February of 2012 in the season opener at famed Daytona International Speedway. Buescher went on to race a total of 20 events during 2012 and had two top-five and eight top-10 finishes with an average finish of 13.4.

When the 200-lap, 400-mile race at Michigan International Speedway began on Sunday afternoon, Kevin Harvick and the No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet team lined up 21st for the initial green flag. The first pit stop on lap 22, for a pre-determined competition caution, allowed the team to make multiple adjustments to help the car’s loose-handling condition. Throughout the race, crew chief Gil Martin called for pit stops taking on two and four tires at various times.

Paul Menard and the No. 27 Quaker State/Menards Chevrolet team had their afternoon spoiled by a blown tire on the final lap and finished 30th in the 400-mile NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Pocono Raceway. Menard started the race in the ninth position after persistent rain showers forced NASCAR officials to cancel Friday’s qualifying session. The 32-year old driver maintained a top-15 position during the first 60 laps while battling a loose-handling condition on his green and yellow machine.
