Responsible for all aspects of product planning related to electronic controls across all divisions. Identifies controls needs by product and develops new product plans to satisfy those needs. Develops short and long-term electronic controls strategies that are coordinated across all divisions. Works closely with Product Planning at each division to ensure that electronic controls strategy is integrated with and supports overall product plans. Identifies controls trends and develops appropriate product strategies and plans. Stays abreast of emerging controls technologies. Coordinates controls activities with Water Heater, AC, Raypak, Specialty, Tankless and Parts product managers. Actively participates in supplier selection efforts and in supply chain strategy for electronic controls.
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university
- Strong product management background
- Experience developing and implementing multi-generational product plans
- Minimum 8 years experience in electronic controls and software product management for appliances or similar products. (Experience must include background in energy and power management controls)
- Strong financial, analytical and reasoning skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a team environment
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, & Power Point)
- Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills
- Strong communication skills (e.g., business correspondence and professional customer correspondence)
- Ability to effectively develop & present information to top management, customers, suppliers and governmental / technical agencies
- Experience in project management and coordination
- Ability to work independently and make informed, defendable decisions as they relate to products, customers and strategies
- Unrestricted ability to travel domestically and internationally (Up to 30% overnight travel)
Preferred Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Masters in Business Administration
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field (e.g., electrical engineering)
- Product management experience within the consumer electronics industry
- Experience in MODBUS and BACnet software
- Experience in data-gathering, classification, and analysis
- Experience in developing and implementing multi-generational product plans
- Experience in the water heating and/or air conditioning/heating industry
- Experience in supervising monitoring and assessing performance of employees
